In 2012 I launched Confessions a 4 man show delving into our hidden worlds, exposing thoughts that had never been said aloud. Now in 2014 I am launching the next stage of the project - OBSESSIONS. A group show with over 50 international artists, all whom work to obsessional levels under the themes of love, ritual, collection - this is the most significant curatorial project in my career to date and will delight, disgust and entice its audience. -Charlotte Meddings

installation / photography / objects / video / sound at João Cocteau, Kienitzer Straße 98, Berlin Neukölln Opening: March 27, 7pm – 11pm Opening hours: March 27 – 30, 2014, 3pm – 7pm Curator: Susanne Lek (NL) Artists: Penelope Vlassopoulou, Alessandra Senso, Marco Ristuccia, Julia Patey, Margarita Novikova, Stephanie Neumann, Carolin Kastner, Bram Braam, Rebecca Agnes. Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm provides a visual interpretation of urban elements in the Kurfürstendamm area. The elements are documented in situ, taken out of their initial context and given a new function as building blocks of a different kind of structure. Abstract forms and patterns latent in manhole covers, walls, etc. provide the vocabulary for improvisational compositions in the form of drawings. In the installation Hier Wohnte the text from commemorative brass plaques installed in the pavements of the Kurfürstendamm area for those deported and murdered during the Nazi era integrates with such a pattern. Lintel features a manhole cover trace produced during the documentation phase of the project, proposing a new visual interpretation of the documented object.
