Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm provides a visual interpretation of urban elements in the Kurfürstendamm area. The elements are documented in situ, taken out of their initial context and given a new function as building blocks of a different kind of structure. Abstract forms and patterns latent in manhole covers, walls, etc. provide the vocabulary for improvisational compositions in the form of drawings. In the installation Hier Wohnte the text from commemorative brass plaques installed in the pavements of the Kurfürstendamm area for those deported and murdered during the Nazi era integrates with such a pattern. Lintel features a manhole cover trace produced during the documentation phase of the project, proposing a new visual interpretation of the documented object.
