LINTEL (2014)
Drawing
Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm
Part of the Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm body of work and the project Metamorphosis. Lintel interprets a manhole cover situated in the Kurfürstendamm area in Berlin featuring a trace of the object. The trace is part of the first phase of the Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm project during which the city's elements are documented through the method of frottage, a non-intermediated way of capturing the element's texture on paper. The work proposes a new visual interpretation/function of the documented object.
"Lintel" is part of Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm and the broader project Metamorphosis. It was presented in the group show "Lost Space", João Cocteau Gallery, Berlin, March 2014. For photographs of the exhibition please refer here.
