NO WATER, MEMORIAL SITE 1941-1944 DOCUMENTATION SAMPLES

The first part of the project no water involved documenting the material that served as point of departure for the ephemeral drawings made on the city pavements. This material was the wall carvings at the Memorial Site 1941-1944, place of the former Nazi detention facilities in the center of Athens.
Phrases and drawings made by the detainees in the period 1941-44 covering the walls of the monument were documented in four photographic sessions. Here are shown samples of the documented material.

All the samples presented here are drawn from the second basement of the monument.
