THIRTY-SIX BLUE MOONS
A blue moon is the thirteenth moon of a given year, occurring once every two or three years. Thirty-six is the number of blue moons expected to fall within an average human lifespan. The work adopts the structure of a calendar carrying thirty-six individual drawings executed in powdered pigment on paper. The drawings are set on an abaca paper surface that collapses into a cloth covered box that also contains the book's colophon printed on abaca paper.
Archival notes: The drawings are executed with powdered pigment on 100% cotton, 300 g handmade paper and fixed with a Hahnemühle archival fixative .
Installation views from the exhibition "Obsession: Love, Ritual, Collection", Embassy Tea Gallery, London, 24-29 June, 2014.
